Really recommend this place as we didn't plan it OR found it anywhere on the internet. The Beef Pho are served in quite huge portions and they are relatively cheap, each bowl of rice noodles cost only USD$2.50.
And we had 2 cans of LAO beers for USD$1 each.
So our total bill came up to $7 for the both of us. Not bad!
The only downside was the day while we were there eating, there was no electricity so it was very stuffy!!! So you can imagine that the 2 cans were pure joy from heaven when we quench our thirst!
After eating here, we slowly walked back to our hotel to rest and guess what! It rained cats and dogs!!!!! So fortunate that we caught our bite and are snugly under our quilt covers while it poured outside.
here are more photos of our delicious meal! (good for those on a tight budget yet want a relatively clean place to have their food)
after our lunch break at the famous beef and noodles stall...phew. it's back to the hotel room for us to wash up and freshen ourselves.
back at the hotel....
look at these 2 boys! exactly the same position once they get onto a bed!!!!
above: some pretty photos of our fresh lotus in our room.

Ritey, after resting at our hotel...it's time to roam the streets of Phnom Penh again!
Couleurs d’Asie 33, Street 240 Offers high quality silks, silk fashions, accessories, soft furnishing and unique creations.
Chocolate Shop Phnom Penh's City first and only chocolate boutique. Address: 35, Street 240
Try: Dark Chocolate encrusted with crushed Kampot pepper (from website) but wj and I much much prefer their home-made ice-cream on a hot hot cambodian afternoon!
very satisfied me
we decided to eat indoors cos we wanted the air-con! heeheee..... yes yes spoilt singaporeans who can't live without cool air. Hey, we get summer all year round here so we prefer cool days naturally!
here are some pretty shots of the place, its interior, furniture and wares. It has this "lotus" theme around the shop from fence, door-knobs, to stool fabrics etc... very sweet and girly!
here are some shopfronts along Street 240 including our favourite The Chocolate Shop which we patronised for 2 days in a row!
Above: is our Singapore Embassy!
Finally for dinner....
Hearsay that this place offers authentic classical Thai and Khmer food restaurant with dishes at reasonable prices. Here are the comments from others:
- Shophouse sized restaurant with pleasant indoor seating. (well for me, i thought it was way too dim, can hardly see my food clearly, probably was aiming for a romantic ambience)
- Fairly large selection of dishes. (hmm this i'm not too sure)
- Very good preparation. (this i agree as there's signs of thoughtfulness in displaying their dishes)
Try: Recommended are the tom yum gung lemongrass soup with shrimp or the lahb spicy minced pork or beef salad with herbs.
haha...this is a funny one. Foreground: Grilled eggplant with chicken (Char Trob Saich Moan - translated makes me thinking of a chicken moaning!). Supposedly a local favourite as the eggplant is grilled over charcoal fire till well-done thus releasing its natural aroma.
ritey folks....
stay tuned for our cooking adventure on Day 04 of Phnom Penh!!!
