Dilemma.
Verdict? we just hopped onto the Internal Shuttlebus around Nirwana Resorts and guess where the driver stopped us? The Kelong Restaurant. That's it. So we got down from the bus and ate there!
It was a beautiful sight. abit saddening as well. i always think sunset as an ending to a dark night and sunrise as to a bright new beginning. Nevertheless, tonight shall be a beautiful night cos i'm going for a seafood dinner amidst the south china seas on a stilted house! With many fishes for company and sea birds flying back and forth, tonight is the night!
We ordered Sambal Kangkong, Crispy Chicken (half) and Crayfish stir-fried in butter (6 pieces) and all washed down with a pot of chinese tea.
About 730pm we left the restaurant and headed outside to wait for the shuttlebus to take us back to our resort.
Look! somebardy is pre-occupied when we were out for our dinner. And the little fella has his little paw on the remote control.
this is the semi-outdoor area beside our massage room. Beyond the louvred windows is the outdoor shower facilities.
After our spa...they brought us thru this little courtyard which had morning glorys hanging all over the timber trellis above us. It was such a pretty sight! And thru this courtyard with trickling waters from clay urns and pools, we were led to an aircon room with lots of comfy cushions and aroma oils burning, a set of teacups ladden with tea was served.
Can't believe we did this. Until today i still feel somewhat guilty. After that relaxing spa, massage and footscrub, detoxing our bodies with the refreshing tea, we went for drinks! it's like back to square one!
Well, i guess the only consolation that there was 20% off all spirits and cocktails in the house. Wj ordered a champagne cocktail while i had a long island tea. I think i prefered mine cos his was too gassy for me...i didn't feel too hot that night so bubbly drinks are not in favour. teehee. My Long Island tea was packed with oomph i must say. So they are quite generous in their shots! Unlike some bars which i have been too...can't even feel that little tingle in my tumtum or throat.
The night has just begin with LIVE band at La Luna Beach Bar. All i can say is that the Band does sing many pop songs and croon to oldies. But their enuciation is terrible; indistinctly and virtually like jay chou. Thank goodness for the bunch of angmohs bringing up the heat and groupies of girls and boys. If not the party is so not going to happen. hahah...so after our drinks, feeling sprightly and lighted, we strolled on the sandy beach back to our chalet.
good night!
We ordered Sambal Kangkong, Crispy Chicken (half) and Crayfish stir-fried in butter (6 pieces) and all washed down with a pot of chinese tea.
FOOD:
Sambal Kangkong: Spicy and not too oily. Taste yummy! Really good!
Crispy Chicken: Whoa true to its name, the skin was very thin and crispy! Very delicate and meat was juicy and tender. Half a chicken is good enough serving for 2.
Crayfish: 6 ways to cook it and you get to decide too! from black pepper to butter-fried to garlic, steamed etc etc! And it was very fresh and juicy! Although i say 6 pieces and it did came in 6 pieces but a word of caution 6 pieces = 6 halves of 3 crayfishes! But still i think it was pretty delectable dish.
Final Verdict:
the dishes were truly palatable, truly enjoyable. Downside? i would say it could be cheaper. I think eating seafood at some neighbourhood cz-char might be even cheaper! But i can understand that it's the only seafood restaurant in the vicinity and what's more on stilts...so sigh...can't complain. Pay for the seafood, ambience and service.
Service:
oh yes, talking about service. The waiter was very eager to take photos for us without us asking them!!! Our food also came real quick and overall, I'm very pleased with them! Nice and friendly, greeting us when we came and left. And of cos, they also showed us the lobsters and helped us weigh it too...even when we didnt want to buy the lobster (too big lah, dun think the 2 of us can finish, the lobsters were so huge, like feeding for a table of 10, waiter say today didnt have small ones...shucks), they were still very patient with us and smiling too.
