Located on the 4th floor of Taipei 101, is an exhibition space before you enter the observatory tower where u can purchase a ticket up. Currently the one which was on exhibition was all about arts, architecture and fashion from London...so u can see some of Zaha hadid's work here...and MVRDV's one...haha, abit bias here cos i only took aki stuff....keke.
Above:
Here's a very cute cartoon caricature of the buidling itself on one of the wall....colourful mural!
Ritey, i have purchased my tickets and up the elevator we go!
~ sending our love back home!!!
down to earth again. After so much sightseeing from the top, it's time to do some ground work!
Walking distance from Taipei 101 is the famous shopping mall Mitsuokushi, Warner Village and New York New York. I even took a picture with the statue of Liberty after my cuppa latte.
From Mitsuokushi, we walked to Sun Yat Sen's Memorial Hall where there was an art exhibit on the 2nd level! Modern art and some moving pictures...sweet! Bought a memorabilia book and a tee designed by the artist.
Sun is setting here, the grounds of the memorial hall was very heavy utilised by the public. Lots of family gatherings; children flying kites, couples walking dogs and student groupies rehearsing dance formations.
We even managed to catch the changing of guards! Neat! They had their shoulders stuck onto each other like super glue and they marched around the perimeter of the memorial hall before going to the national flag to have it hoisted down. By the time we left the Memorial hall is was evening time, and mr moon has already been shining down on us for some time! Snap him!
Went to the IT mall in taipei but wj didnt find anything to his liking. it was in a makeshift 'flatted factory' like building as the building block is currently on construction site. Lots of men acting like boys, all hyped up! *yawns* erm-hem, i might like to add something too...there were quite afew porn shops selling comics, videos and videogames! *eeks*
so it's back to XMD for our dinner! Guess what we are having?? hahaha
First stop was AhZong's MianXian again!
Beef noodle shop:
Address: No. 15 Taoyuan Street (MRT Ximen Station Exit 3)
How to get there!!!! : Coming out from the exit 3, walk all the way straight until the 2nd road junction. There are two junctions after exit 3, one is after the shopping mall just before the bus stop, the other is further down after the bus stop. That's the right junction. Cross the road to Tao Yuan St. (which is on your left) the noodle shop will be on the right of the street. It's the 3rd stall, beside this breakfast shop that sells prata-like crepes and Soya bean milk. The 1st stall along that line is actually a pao dimsum stall.

The beef noodles comes in a quite a huge portion, so u and your bf or gf are still raring to try more of taiwanese food, i suggest u2 to share one bowl and continue to savour other snacks in taipei. The beef chunks are generous and very tender with many strips of fats in between, yes ver sinful but that's the best part truly!!!
As for the breakfast stall which is nearby is actually quite good and we had our breakfast the next day...and there's always a long Q forming...
