Pregnancy #49 - Resorts World Malaysian Hawker

Malaysian Hawker Fare
There is a quite a wide variety of Malaysian food here and at affordable prices too! One would think that it's situated just beside Universal Studio theme park, the food prices here must be exorbitant but hey no! Wanton mee here is only $4.50!

I'm not sure how authentic the food flavour here but it was pretty crowded at 3pm and the food that we bought tasted somewhat right.

Lor Bak which we called Ngor Hiang in SG
We tried the Penang Ah Long Lor Bak which was fried until hot and cripsy, it was meat was tender and marinated with five spice powder and rolled in soya bean sheets. Hubs bought the cripsy prawn crackers which were so different from the SG version and sorry to say, we prefer the SG version!!!
They have a set which goes for $8++  or you can go ala carte too which we did here.
Hokkien Mee in dark sweet sauce
Next on our food list is KL Jalan Alor Hokkien Mee claimed to have their recipe perfected over 30 years!!!! Their noodles is reknowned for its dark sauce that infuses the noodles with a fragrant aroma and paired with cabbage and pork or was it chicken??? it was so dark that i couldnt really figure it out! Nevertheless, it still commands a queue here and the waiting time was 30mins!

Dessert time!
Pulut Hitam

Chendol
After 2 main dishes, we end our meals with a try at the dessert stall! Sweet and happiness!!! The famous Penang Chendol conjured up with fresh green chendol jelly, sweetened red beans (really huge) on shaved ice and drizzled with gula melaka...not bad! But I'm sure there are equally good chendols out there at our SG hawker stalls too!!!

If you thought the Chendol was good, wait till you try the black glutinous rice! It's really thick and full of flavour!!! I likey this one alot!!!

OSIA @ Resorts World Sentosa PHOTOS

WJ and I had the 3 course meal. Mum, Dad and Sis all had the 4 course meal.
Total bill came up to $300 +.

we started off with some bread, extra virgin olive oil and butter while we waited for the chef to whip up our food. The bread was toasted and warm. So it was really good.

for starters, i had the Polenta Crumbed Foie Gras topped with raisins and bananas. You might think it's such a weird combi but it tasted heavenly! And looks pretty too!

Both my mum and sis had the Emulsion of Celeriac and Basil with sea scallop and green apple mousse. No comments from both ladies but they cleared every single drop on the plate.

For Mains both the men had Corn Fed Chicken Breast, white meat, healthy but tad dry.

Sis had the Line Caught Sea Bass. Really photogenic this one. vibrant colours and texture from the vined tomatoes and curled up asparagus. Lovely.

Mum and I had the Broiled Cod, seared to perfection. Lovely. Sweet and memorable, moist on the inside and lightly crisp on the skin. Even the Goma crusted ratte potatoes and cool sweet Edamame were pleasantly wonderful.

For desserts, I had the Golden Apple tart with King Island double cream + nougat ice cream. Slurps. Warm and crumbly. Melts in the mouth. Mixed with cold ice cream you get a fun dose of Hot and Cold feelings!

Specialty of the House! WJ, Mum and Sis had this...Valrhona Hot Chocolate Soup with Black peppered ice-cream!!! (weird!!! but delicious nonetheless) and sesame crisp. The soup was thick and scrumptious. Everyone loved it.

Hunter Valley Wash Rind+Quandong paste (which had all of us wondered really long what fruit we were eating cos none of us could rem the menu) + crisp lavash. We didn't like the raisins though cos they had seeds in them.

OSIA @ Resorts World Sentosa

although the address says that it's on level 2 Crockford's tower, but actually if you go onto Festive walk Level 2, you might be able to find it faster! It's beside a japanese restaurant.

Service: Impeccable and friendly staff
Food: Beautiful presentation, warm plates and delicious food.

Set lunches are also available daily.
Prices starting from 2-course set lunch starts from S$35++, 3-course from S$45++ and 4-course from S$55++.

I wouldn't really say that it's pricey. If you are taking from the set lunches, for starters, i highly recommend the foie gras. or if you are looking at a healthier choice, you can take the celeriac soup. For mains, the sea bass is very nice. The chicken is abit dry since they use breast meat. My cod was equally good too. Desserts: something light, go for their golden apple tart, if you want something decadent: GO FOR THEIR VALRHONA soup. one of their specialty in the house.

will post close up soon!!!

FINE DINING

happy mother's day to all mummies out there!!!

just a quick update that we had a terrific lunch at Osia Resorts World Sentosa. Will post photos soon.
