Sanpoutei Ramen

I've always seen long queues snaking outside Sanpoutei Ramen...so finally i get a chance to try it today. I can only say I still prefer Ippudo Ramen, Nanteitsu Ramen and Tampopo.

Ramen Dining Keisuke (Suntec)

Sunday evening where it's just the 2 of us settling our dinner as a couple. So precious these moments and so peaceful. Chanced upon this Ramen dining place at Suntec 2nd storey. They serve free hard boiled eggs and beansprouts ! And they also serve Gen Mai Tea which is chilled!

Hubs ordered the Miso Ramen while I had the spicy Miso Ramen. I like it that they actually allow me to choose and match my preference on how my ramen is to be served. Like for me, I love soft noodles while hubs prefer them hard and chewy. And weight conscious people would like their soup with less oil...other things which you can fine tune in your ramen are spring onions, soup broth thickness etc.

And BEST OF ALL -  kids dine for free under 10!!
YAY, will bring both Jules and James to eat here next time.

Looks like me but not me....

Early Wedding Anniversary Lunch @ COMO The Dempsey Cookhouse & Bar

above: fine dining usually serves warm toasted bread on the side...and COMO the Dempsey Cookhouse & Bar also served bread too. But again it was a great disappointment. Not only was it cold, it was soggy and tasteless!!

I came here especially on our early wedding anniversary lunch, hoping to be thrilled and delighted with the food. But alas, it was a real horrible experience. The food was nothing memorable, exciting or enticing. I will never come back even for a million dollars.

but thank you for the service.

above: Signature Dish - Black Truffle and Fortina Cheese.

Can you see the 2 big black boils on my pizza? The whole pizza tasted burnt and bitter and overpowering the truffle. Plus it was soggy and oily, super shiny as you can see from this picture.
Flat dough and the crust was not fluffy at all. Really horrible. I wonder why people even come here to dine.

above: the only palatable dish - Sauteed Foie Gras. Well done this one.

above: last but not least. Dessert - Salted Caramel Ice Cream Sundae. Looks presentable but the taste is only passable.

Dancing Crab @ Vivocity

hubs has craving for lobsters and crabs.
so we decided to try Dancing Crab which is a Lousiana Seafood, my guess is that probably where it all started from...seafood cooked in a pot and served on a table...in a pretty mess?
We had their Dancing Crab Signature Combo - Sri Lankan Crab which cost $88 that came with 1 Sri Lankan Crab, prawns, clams, corn and sausages. And for combos like these, you get to choose your sauce (signature, Beurre Blanc, Zesty Garlic Butter or Creamy Pepper). We tried their Signature in Mild.

For those of you who don't really eat spicy then I will recommend the Mild because after eating awhile, the whole spicy-ness really gets into your head.

And for 2 persons, the combo is good enough. Unless you are really really hungry, then perhaps you can order an appetiser or another main.

overall i think the price is pretty decent, the waiting time wasn't too long but probably because i went on a weekday lunch time. The staff are attentive, the taste is good, the seafood is quite fresh too.

so i will be back!

The Coastal Settlement

A day out with hubs.
every 7th day of the month is our monthsary. sometimes we celebrate it by going to somewhere new to eat. other times we forget due to our busy schedules.

this month, i especially took leave because our insurance agent has given us a pair of tickets to watch Spiderman! So after work, i joined hubs for lunch at The Coastal Settlement.

it's really quite out of place and we missed a turn even though we had our google maps turned on.
Nonetheless we managed to get there and ordered 2 set lunches. The place is nestled in a very lush and green environment but I would say the interiors did not capitalise on this bonus view point. The insides was dark and hardly any daylight can be felt. The tables and chairs that were placed by the full height windows did not allow proper dining which is so wrong and the proper dining areas were all tucked in the dark!

sigh.
hubs on low chair. so difficult to eat! But I really wanted a view out.

above: ordinary coffee and even more lack lustre salad

verdict: not coming back here again because the food is like meh, the location is hard to get to and I simply can't understand why the seating arrangement is like this.

Loving Hubs

WJ is cycling round Bishan Park catching pokemons for me whilst I stay at Mcdonalds having my cuppa latte. Recent heat wave in singapore has caused my eczema to flare up again...so I'm staying away from all the outdoor and hot activities...

with the arrival of baby jade, we no longer can stay out late at night while the boys are asleep, catching pokemons...so what we can do now is during my maternity leave, i catch a 2 hour break when Jade is having her nap and quickly rush to the nearest "nest" to catch some pokemons which i do not have...

sigh.

Hubs Birthday at Seoul Yummy

Throwback post as there are so many backlogged blogs to write, edit and think about. Now especially when we have 3 kids, finding time to do my blogging has become quite difficult. Plus I prefer to take my photos and download/backup into my server before I blog. So that takes up some time as well....

nonetheless. here's hubs birthday lunch at Seoul Yummy!
we managed to "escape" out for an afternoon break, leaving my helper with Jade.

Valentine's Day Present

Here's my valentine's present to hubs...another watch which he had requested - Casio G Shock with Nylon Band which he had gotten online. He says it's quite limited. I probably agree with him since we purposely went down to Vivocity where there was a shop that sells G Shock and baby G watches and they have sold out on this particular G shock that he is looking for. And the salesgirl also told us that all other branches have also sold out on this watch.

For me, he bought me a Miffy lamp, a request from me for quite some time now. I haven't gotten the time to take it out from the box! so there are no photos of it yet...

i'm thinking of sprucing up Jade's baby cot area with the new lamp but seriously with a baby...i simply can't find a time that is long enough for me to clean, arrange things, pack and unpack stuff and do up a space. I guess Miffy Lamp is gonna have to wait in her box for some time...

Macarons from Bonheur Patisserie

most days hubs after bringing Jules and James to their kindy in the afternoons, he will pack lunch back for me and my helper. But today, it's a special day where he brought me out for lunch. And we decided to drop by Grandstand Pasar Bella to see what we can find to fill our stomachs. Regrettably ,we didn't find anything to our taste buds at Pasar Bella so we went out and had noodles instead. However i did manage to buy something which caught my fancy! A box of macarons from Bonheur Patisserie!!!

it's a box of 10 for $25. $1 for character macarons like the ones I've bought - Pikachu, Hello Kitty and Pokeball. They taste really nice, not too sweet and perfect for an afternoon's tea treat.

try it. You will be surprise by how little things such as these will brighten up your day.

xoxo
