Stirling HDB Terrace- #12 Reno works begin

YAY!
the reno works have begun last thursday and boo...the reno works have stopped. We have gotten ourselves a PE for the endorsement of the hacking works. So...
Now, it's awaiting for HDB's approval for us to say goodbye to the ugly walls of the common toilet.

plurezze let us hack those walls down...

oh yes, when we were down to see the progress of our reno, we chanced upon a new neighbour who has just recently finished her reno too! and it looks spectacular! I really hope ours will have that kind of finished look too.

Dinner & Dance - The Nite itself!

MORE PHOTOS TO SHARE WITH EVERYONE!
Theme of the night: Shanghai Grand (1920s)

Here's a little history to share with you all from Wikipedia:
The 1920s was the decade that started on January 1, 1920 and ended on December 31, 1929. It is sometimes referred to as the Roaring Twenties or the Jazz Age, when speaking about the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom. In Europe the decade is sometimes referred to as the "Golden Twenties" because of the economic boom following World War I.

The 1920s was the decade in which fashion entered the modern era. It was the decade in which women first liberated themselves from constricting fashions and began to wear more comfortable clothes (such as short skirts or pants). Men likewise abandoned overly formal clothes and began to wear sport clothes for the first time. The suits which men wear today are still based, for the most part, on those which were worn by men in the late 1920s

i was dressed as a 1920s flapper! - pearls, tassels, my ciggy stick and shiny helmet hair.
"In the 1920s, a new woman was born. She smoked, drank, danced, and voted. She cut her hair, wore make-up, and went to petting parties. She was giddy and took risks. She was a flapper. "

we had a swell time!

Stirling HDB Terrace- #11 Gifts for our Neighbours

PRESENTING....EAR PLUGS!

We know how noisy it gets when people start their renovations...so we decided to present ear-plugs as gifts for our neighbours before our renovation hacking works start. WJ and I went down to a hardware shop in chinatown to get them one weekend. After say 5mins of bargaining, we got each ear-plug for $1.30. Hmm is it cheap? I really dunno!!!
HOPE our neighbours love it though, the extra effort that we put in and the thoughts we give in.

cutting the reno cards up before distributing it tomorrow when the hacking starts. WOOHOO. The cards are design by yours truly, so wj just had to foot for the ear-plugs bill...hehehehe

i really enjoy doing these stuff... ^_^

Sunday Brunch

PS CAFE
Saturday brunch with the gals, but last minute, Elle couldn't make it because of work. So Pengs and I met at Dempsey's PS cafe for a good hearty breakfast.
I had the PS cafe big breakfast, my choice of poached eggs and beef sausage. The beef sausage was a mistake as it was really tough, and the bacons were very hard. Looks good but taste wasn't up to par.
Pengs Chicken parmagianni fared better. Looks appetising and tastes just as good! So there's the better choice if you ever go to PS cafe for brunch people!

For dessert, we shared a citrus orange cake with a dollop of vanilla ice cream to finish our lovely duo gathering which of cos it's missing its third party - ELLE...

ritey, just to cap this little blog, a picture of me and my frosty!!! It's been quite awhile i last posted a photo of him..and he looks abit grouchy here cos he doesn't really like to take photos...

Stirling HDB Terrace- #8 Green Fingers

indoor PLANTS brightens my day!
House Plants do more than just brighten up a room with color and living energy. Along with being pleasing to the eye, they bring real health benefits to your body. Not only do complaints about headaches, stress, heart/circulation-symptoms and colds decrease when indoor plants are present, according to sources in "The comprehensive office series," but also richly decorating a room with plants can help to keep the air clean.

Top 9 Air Purifying Plants (things to know!)

The following plants are most effective in removing potentially harmful chemicals-including those in paints, varnishes, dry cleaning fluids, car exhaust fumes and tobacco smoke-from the air in your home.

  • Dragon tree
  • Ivy
  • Ficus
  • Philodendrons(money plant:CHECK!)
  • Spider plants
  • Peace lilies(hope to get them!)
  • Ferns (Check!)
  • Chrysanthemums
  • Palms

here are some of my acquired plants over the past 2 years while i was in Sportshub and back in Marina Square : Which i will bring over to my new place!

Maidenhair Fern by my daddy...a wooden simple shelf which WJ made from the planks which we bought from IKEA and spent an afternoon painting it. There's a money plant pot which mum has re potted for me over the year as it was growing OUT of its POT! The one with the white ribbon was a present from sis for my wedding. She says it has heart shaped leaves and low maintenance. It's a Hoya Kerrii (Lucky Heart) beside it is my Anthurium in pink!

these 2 are newly acquired over the weekend from IKEA. They already look quite chummy together. muahahha

keep those fingers green people cos green is the way to go!
