Siem Reap Day 02 - Ta Prohm

Ta Prohm
Bayon Style
Buddhist temple
the TOMB RAIDER TEMPLE

Above: Ahren infront of temple, ruins - a distinctive feature of Ta Prohm, silk cottonwood and strangler fig trees. These trees are literally growing out and up of the ruins!!!! Their roots coiling more like reptiles than plants.

The temple of Ta Prohm was used as a location in the film Tomb Raider. Ta Prohm was built in the mid 12th and early 13th century. It should be near the top of every visitor’s list as it is a large complex of passages and open plazas and it is also the temple where many people want to get the photo with the trees growing out of the walls. There is also a pink ice cream van here as well where you can cool off with a nestle ice cream.
