Hong Kong Day 03

today is my birthday! And we are going for breakfast first before we start shopping.
hubs is wearing his new camper shoes from citygate outlet.
smashing lime green. very striking. he tells me that if i can't find him amidst the hk crowds, i just have to look out for his shoes. I think he is quite right.

my new melissa shoes from citygate outlets.

Breakfats was at Mongkok Cooked food market where there's a famous Cha Can Teng here called
Macau Tsui Yuen Cafe
Mongkok Cooked Food Market
577 Shanghai Street (exit from C4 Mongkok MTR)
Mon-Sat 7am-9pm
Must try: Portugese style curry with farmer's bun, Macau Pork Chop bun and ice coffee.

omigaud! i didn't know the farmer bun was soooo huge!
both of us stared at it in amazement.
Pork chop bun with 2 sticks...i think it looks like a crab without legs!

hubs tackled the farmer's bun first. And it came with a bowl of curry on the side and Borsh soup. The curry was sweet, like those japanese curry rice. The ice coffee was ok. The pork chop bun...hubs said he prefered the Lan Fong Yuen ones.

After breakfast, we took the MTR down to central, walked over to the exchange square where there's a bus terminal, hoped onto bus 590 and it brought us to Horizon plaza.
did some shopping at Horizon plaza and took the bus back to central. this time we walked to SOHO.

We tried this cantonese shop that sells roast goose meat which was recommended by one of the food blogs. And it was GOOD!!! The skin was crisp and the meat was so tender

Maxim cake shops are all over Hk like mushrooms. so we bought 2 slices of cake to celebrate my birthday. Below are 2 photos of our buys from Horizon Plaza. We didn't buy much since we don't have that capacity to buy so many stuff. hahaha....probably next time.
a pair of Ferragamos for me!

Fred Perry T Shirts for hubs

 Cured ham for my mum.
Dinner. A franchise selling vermicelli. I think it's only so-so. But it's quite a hit with the locals.

We shared a bowl of vermicelli. and we ordered the spicy sour soup broth. They have about 4 different kinds of soup broth to choose from. After choosing your broth, you can choose your main items - meat, vegetables and tofu etc. We ordered 2 sides to try too since they were highly recommended on the menu.
Century egg with chilli oil and loads of spring onions.
This one hubs liked alot.
Pork belly in chilli oil topped with mince garlic
hubs mentioned that the pork taste is quite strong.
