Hong Kong Day 04

My 4th day in Hong Kong and I must eat the scrambled eggs at Australia Diary Company. Because it's one of my favourites. We had to queue for awhile but it's really quite worth the wait. So i queued. And to make my wait worth all the seconds...i ordered a scrambled egg toast, one hot milk tea and 1 bowl of milk pudding. and i was bursting on my sides.

After i had my hearty breakfast, i came out and there was still the snaking queue.
then we waited out at Mcdonalds before granville circuit opened. so we just took a selfie.
We walked around the new mall called K-11, which supposedly incorporated some form of art/arts into the shopping space. They have a design store on the upper floors and an ABC cooking studio. It was also linked to the MTR and between the connection, there was an art exhibition space dedicated to laser cuts and 3d printer products.
Tea break time - kam wah cafe. i really need to eat a good bo luo bao. Their buns are always hot from the oven. the top is flaky and the bun is soft.

what better way to shed those calories? walk the streets!

and the stuff we bought...all the funny kitsch knick knacks to bring home for colleagues and friends.
Dinner was at this Roast Goose Cha Can Teng. But Yat Lok at Central is way better.

Plum sauce on the side, so you can have as much sauce as you want for your roast goose.

we ordered a plate of broccoli because we ate far too much meat for the past few days.
Back to Flower Market and we ate Fei Jie Xiao Shi Dian. Ordered the Imperial combo 3.

Bought COME BUY plum tea to quench our thirst

hubs bought this durian praline from Hui Lau Shan for his parents

i bought Kee Wah Almond biscuits for colleagues and wife cakes for daddy.

That's all folks!
Nites!

Hong Kong Day 03

today is my birthday! And we are going for breakfast first before we start shopping.
hubs is wearing his new camper shoes from citygate outlet.
smashing lime green. very striking. he tells me that if i can't find him amidst the hk crowds, i just have to look out for his shoes. I think he is quite right.

my new melissa shoes from citygate outlets.

Breakfats was at Mongkok Cooked food market where there's a famous Cha Can Teng here called
Macau Tsui Yuen Cafe
Mongkok Cooked Food Market

Mon-Sat 7am-9pm
Must try: Portugese style curry with farmer's bun, Macau Pork Chop bun and ice coffee.

omigaud! i didn't know the farmer bun was soooo huge!
both of us stared at it in amazement.
Pork chop bun with 2 sticks...i think it looks like a crab without legs!

hubs tackled the farmer's bun first. And it came with a bowl of curry on the side and Borsh soup. The curry was sweet, like those japanese curry rice. The ice coffee was ok. The pork chop bun...hubs said he prefered the Lan Fong Yuen ones.

After breakfast, we took the MTR down to central, walked over to the exchange square where there's a bus terminal, hoped onto bus 590 and it brought us to Horizon plaza.
did some shopping at Horizon plaza and took the bus back to central. this time we walked to SOHO.

We tried this cantonese shop that sells roast goose meat which was recommended by one of the food blogs. And it was GOOD!!! The skin was crisp and the meat was so tender

Maxim cake shops are all over Hk like mushrooms. so we bought 2 slices of cake to celebrate my birthday. Below are 2 photos of our buys from Horizon Plaza. We didn't buy much since we don't have that capacity to buy so many stuff. hahaha....probably next time.
a pair of Ferragamos for me!

Fred Perry T Shirts for hubs

 Cured ham for my mum.
Dinner. A franchise selling vermicelli. I think it's only so-so. But it's quite a hit with the locals.

We shared a bowl of vermicelli. and we ordered the spicy sour soup broth. They have about 4 different kinds of soup broth to choose from. After choosing your broth, you can choose your main items - meat, vegetables and tofu etc. We ordered 2 sides to try too since they were highly recommended on the menu.
Century egg with chilli oil and loads of spring onions.
This one hubs liked alot.
Pork belly in chilli oil topped with mince garlic
hubs mentioned that the pork taste is quite strong.
