4D4N Phnom Penh Itinerary

Day 01: 21 October 2008 Tuesday
Welcome aboard! Plane ride takes approx 1.5hr to PP.
Transfer cost US$11 per ride from airport to hotel. Dump luggage at hotel. Too early to check in (for our case)
*Settle Cambodia Cooking Class (Right behind the Royal palace)
1100: Brunch/ Lunch@Friends (close to National Museum). Visit Friends Shop next door.
1230: National Museum
1300: Check into hotel - BLUE LIME no.2, street 19z (off street 19)
1430: Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda (quite big, takes some time to walk around
)
1600: Russian Market.
1700: Time to rest our feet @ “Sisters All Day Breakfast.”
2000: Dinner@Happy Herb Pizza (cheap) along Sisowath Quay


Day 02: 22 October 2008 Wednesday
0700: Rise and Shine! Breakfast, complimentary from the hotel.
0830: Choeung Ek Killing Fields (we got a driver here, US$30)
1000: Back to city. Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (took about 45mins to cover 3 floors of 3 blocks, there’s the Killing fields screening time at 10am and 3pm daily)
1130: Brunch at Java Café and Gallery (very close to Independence Monument)
1300: Independence monument. Stop and take photo. Been there done that! Yeah!
1330: Tuktuk to Central Market (Psar Thmei)
1400: Tuktuk to Wat Phnom. Saw Sam Bo the elephant.
1600: Riverfront Itinerary (did it backwards, starting point was from Raffles le Royal, near Bibliotheque).
1630: Time to rest!!!! Awarded ourselves with a drink from the Elephant Bar. 50% off selected drinks from 4pm.
1700: Walked past the Phnom Penh Post office, cross the road to stroll along Sisowath Quay. Went to Camory Cookie Shop. Just beside the chocolate shop is Cambodia Arts and Crafts shop – great place to get some silk products and souvenirs. Check out silk products on offer.
1800: Dinner at FCC (Foreign Correspondence Club) on 2nd storey. Right beside it is “Happy Painting Gallery”


Day 03: 23 October 2008 Thursday (Khmer Architecture Walking tour)
0900: Rise and shine and it's Breakfast time!
1000: Khmer Architecture Tour (Part I). Along the way, we did Shopping at Street178.
Stop near Central Market
1130: Lunch: Garden Café No 60-61,St 108 (opp a green plaza)
1230: Continue Aki Tour (Part II). Went to Monument Books at Norodom Blvd. Bought Stef’s Painting.
1430: Lunch at Famous Beef Noodles and Soup. $2.50 per bowl. Cheap and Good. There’s a local Silk product shop beside it which sells quite good stuff.
1500: Back to hotel to rest. (quite lucky cos it started to rain!)
1700: Shopping along street 240. Check out the Chocolate Shop. Delicious Extra Bitter chocolate ice-cream.
1830: Dinner at Lemongrass Restaurant.


Day 04: 24 October 2008 Friday (Cooking Class Day)
9am – 4pm: Cambodia Cooking Class US$20 (Right behind the Royal palace)
1630: Walk back to the “Chocolate Shop”. We couldn't forget their delicious and mouth-watering ice-creams!
1700: Back to Hotel to rest. Walk HBO – Spiderman2 (yawns) and “The Mummy Returns “ (yeah cos we haven’t caught that one yet)
2000: Dinner@ Happy Herb Pizza.
2100: Back to hotel. Pack up and check out Taiwanese programmes. (Lots of channels here to choose from!)


Day 05: 25 October 2008 Saturday
0600: Check out. Another US$11 for transfer from hotel to airport.
Remember US$25/pax airport tax.

0825: Byebye Phnom Penh and hello Sunny Singapore

ps: for more details on what to eat, what to buy, The Khmer Aki tour plus Riverwalk itinerary... i will post them on individual day blogs. This one pretty much covers the summary of what we did on our PP trip.
Well....travel blogs with photos are so much better rite? So be patient everyone...good things must wait....& wait....& wait...
