Bangkok Day 01-Day

Finally arriving at the our hotel - Baiyoke Boutique Hotel. It looks like a fully restored hotel from a previous residential building. The location was somewhat hidden behind the gigantic Baiyoke Sky, the tallest hotel in Bangkok. However, i must compliment on the doorman, security guard and even the hotel manager whom all had very good service and always gave us a smile whenever we leave the hotel and return back from our whole day of walking and shopping. It's nice to see someone smiling back after a long day.
The lobby was nicely furnished and the concierge service was fast and efficient in getting our rooms ready, the bell-boy taught us how to use the hotel room's safe and brought our luggages up for us.
The room was spacious enough for the both of us and considering the price that we paid, i think it's not bad. Toilet was clean enough though dun expect much, abit worse then HDB's toilet i think, really not much of a high class interior design, but still liveable and plus we were there to spend most of our time outdoors and only to return at night to sleep. There is bath-tub, though i wouldnt want to soak too long...hahah, downside was there wasn't enought window area, so not much daylight coming in. So after checking-in, we left our luggage and off we went to find some food!i was starved from not eating anything on Jetstar asia....>_<

So here we are in a tuk-tuk, driving to somewhere near Platinum Mall where there were some roadside hawkers. I was too hungry to walk to Platinum Mall actually so tuk-tuk was good enough for me!!! Anyway, tuk-tuk and cabbies are way much cheaper than the MRT and if you are travelling in 4, all the more cheaper! And dun forget to bargain with the tuktuk driver before boarding his tuktuk.

So after awhile, we settled on chicken noodles for $25B a bowl. The serving was just nice for me, haha dunno about wj though. I had the kway teow and it was very soft! Yummilicous too for the soup stock while wj had the instant noodle kind. Afterwhich we headed into the 7-11 for some drinks.

Bangkok's condiments for noodles include chilli flakes, sesame oil, sliced chilli in vinegar, light soy sauce and sugar!

See! there are many push-carts selling all sorts of stuff, we saw fried insects, meat on skewers, soup noodles, local fruits (i bought green mangoes, a packet for 50B which was really good! crunchy and sweet!) and pancakes which wj tried, think he wasn't really full after that small bowl of noodles! The pancakes were the ones that were crispy and had coconut fillings, abit like our tu-tu in Singapore, think wj didnt really enjoyed that one.
